Unconscious and Conscious “Knowing”
Most people think they know, but they don’t really “know”, unless they are Aware ...
Our identification with mind, ideas and thoughts creates a “knowing” of people, places and things. This “knowing” is something we can’t live without in our human being-ness.
—>We “know” when the garbage truck will be on our street, so we take our trash barrels out to the curb before the truck arrives.
—>We “know” we have a deadline for our report at work, so we put the pedal to the metal to get it done correctly and turn it in on time.
—>We “know” the basic rules of society. We “know” not to leave our house to go anywhere naked. We “know” we have to wear clothes.
Those are examples of Unconscious “knowing”. We “know” we need them for us to function in our human existence. We also “know” there will be consequences for not doing what we “know”. Consequences are also only important to us here in our human existence. This is surface “knowing” and it doesn’t come close to touching the ‘essence’ of true “knowing”.
Conscious “Knowing” is true “knowing”. It is feeling-based “knowing” and it comes from within. When our attention is turned within through our feelings and not our thoughts, we perceive that true knowingness exists.
This knowingness exists beyond words and without words. It is experienced as a unity. We realize it is our Truth on a level of conscious realization, and a part of something so much deeper and richer within.
Essence is the source of reality and truth. It is the “knowing” within us. Seldom do we touch true reality in ourselves, or others, and because of that,
… we “know” nothing at all.
Namaste.
