My love/life partner, Robert Cosmar, and I were talking about the huge growth in Astrology he is seeing —books being sold, Gurus asking for money for videos and classes … well, suffice it to say, Astrology has become a huge business that’s been growing ever larger, with its true meaning and usage fading for some time now.
Astrology is being worshipped and that is not —and never was, its intent. People don’t want to buy a house until they look at their Astrology chart, or get married, or change jobs, without first consulting either their birth chart, or an Astrologer.
Robert has been an Astrologer for over 35 years. He has clients in almost every country world-wide. He sees the new trend as something that waters down what Astrology is really all about. Astrology is real, but it is only a guide.
A birth chart can reveal what a person’s life has been like up to the present —their strengths and weaknesses, what they excelled in and even why, when an Astrologer reads the different houses and signs that were active and when.
A birth chart can also hint at what a person’s strengths and weaknesses might be for the future, again based on the signs and the houses that are being affected and in play with one another at different points in time. However, Astrology gives no basis for being worshipped.
I’m more into visual aids, myself. Here’s one I like to use for Astrology:
When you go into a restaurant, you’re handed a menu. The menu is your guide to everything the restaurant offers your taste buds. You make your selection, give the waiter your order, and wait to be served, and yes, it all began with a menu …
If you enjoyed your dinner, you might pass the word along about what a good restaurant it is. You may have been impressed by their fair prices, the speed of service by the staff, their delicious food, and maybe their diverse menu …
But you don’t EAT the friggin’ menu. You certainly don’t WORSHIP it.
Another visual aid … Astrology begins with your circular birth chart. This doesn’t change over your life. What you see are the signs and planets in the solar system that were aligned the day, minute, and in the place where you were born.
What does change over your lifetime are the planets, and the Zodiac signs that rule the 12 houses at any one point in time. Each sign is known for certain traits and the same for each of the houses.
When signs and houses line up, to a trained Astrologer, it ‘suggests’ certain ‘probabilities’, but nothing is ever set in stone. There is no reason for them to imply it means anything exact, i.e., “This will happen on this day!”
No way …
Astrology is a GUIDE, nothing more, nothing less … it’s real, but you don’t build a shrine to it.
Namaste.

“But you don’t EAT the friggin’ menu. “ A great way to explain astrology. Thank you CJ
