No one wants to be the center or cause of a problem, just like no one wants to cause pain to someone they love, or care deeply about.
But it’s turning a blind eye to think the other person is always wrong, any time a problem arises. The smart ones face the problem square on and ask themselves what their part in it might be.
I saw this quote some time ago and I always carry it with me in my purse:
“God grant me the serenity
to accept the people
I cannot change,
the courage to change
the one I can,
and the wisdom to know,
the one is me.”(~Author Unknown)
Our ego always attacks someone else first, because it can’t imagine being wrong. It stands alone — judge, jury, and executioner. It also fixed the trial beforehand and bought the jury.
Truth is the only justice that can win against the ego. Truth makes us responsible for our actions and reactions.
There’s no one else to blame when our ego rises up to defend its right to exist. It’s up to us to decide whether to defend or challenge it.
Sometimes, recognizing that we are at least a part of the problem is the best way to challenge an ego that’s heading out of control …

I'm a Gemini, so I really understand and appreciate this article. Bob Dylan, another Gemini, summed up my constant predicament: 'I'm keeping one step ahead of the persecutor within.' (The persecutor being the ego)
